When this family from Chicago planned to relocate to Texas for a new career opportunity, they asked New Leaf Design Studio to space plan, design, furnish and style a family friendly, transitional home in Lakewood for their young family of five. Their home needed to function for three young children as well as out of town guests & family who they wanted to feel they transported to a chic, boutique hotel.
The clients asked for lively and polished interior aesthetic that reflects their youth, style and love for art while still feeling homey and easy to care for.
In addition to supervising the floor plan process, the design studio designed all custom-made cabinetry and selected all finishes, top to bottom, from lighting, bathroom design, tile selections and hardware, to rugs, custom draperies and furniture.
At the entry, the home office and guest suite mirror one another with high contrast finishes, moody, deep wall colors, custom draperies, warm leather accents and hotel-like details.
The open kitchen features a stunning, custom marble vent hood, multifunctional wine bar and modern pendant lights layered with accents of walnut, black and gold at the island and the central dining space.
Adjacent the kitchen, in the oversized family room rests a custom tweed sectional sofa with pops of chartreuse on Schumacher toss pillows and green velvet captain’s chairs.
The master suite’s teal velvet bed sits in front of a metallic Thibaut wallcovering and is accented by Kelly Wearstler euro pillows and a black sputnik chandelier.
